About Us

The aims of RUGGERBUGS

RUGGERBUGS develops and enhances a child’s basic motor skills and assists with a child’s Early Years Foundation Stage Development. The “Head Start” programme focuses on activities which develop balance, co-ordination and agility. This is encouraged through fun, exciting and energetic running, jumping, throwing and catching games.

Social interaction is also a key concept at RUGGERBUGS. Valuable life skills (such as: communication, listening, sharing, taking turns and teamwork) are gently introduced and developed throughout the programme ensuring children not only benefit from increased stamina, but also confidence and self esteem,  all of which is vital for an active and healthy lifestyle.

Why is RUGGERBUGS different ?

RUGGERBUGS delivers its informal yet professional programme through the use of a Rugby ball as well as other child friendly equipment (such as bean bags, scarves, ladders, hurdles, slaloms).

Rugby is FUN and we believe RUGGERBUGS provides a “Head Start” into the wonderful game by not only equipping children with basic skills they can then develop later at school / club level but also evoking a great sense of discipline and camaraderie. There is something for everyone in Rugby irrespective of your size, shape or walk of life.

RUGGERBUGS is a unique family business and our programme has been developed for joint participation of the parent and child at sessions.
